About Me

Training Philosophy:

Strength gives you the ability to live life the way you want to live it. It gives you the freedom to walk, hike, play, work, and move when you chose to. That freedom let's you smile more, laugh often, and live longer. Strength is the fountain of youth.

I have 3 rules in my training...

1: DO NO HARM

I promise to keep your chances of injury low by giving you the proper exercise selection, helping you own movements with good coaching, and listening to how you feel before, during, and after the workout.

2: PREVENT FUTURE INJURY

I will work on not only giving you what you want in a workout but also what you need. We will work on proper warm ups, mobility, and progress movements only when ready.

3: GET YOU TO YOUR GOAL

I will help guide you on your fitness journey. I will give you the information you need. I will answer all your questions. I will also hold you accountable.

I believe living a healthy lifestyle begins with maintaining a strong and fit body. My aim is to help you identify your fitness goals, design an exercise program that fits your needs, and guide you through every exercise, every workout. My holistic approach to fitness and health will have you feeling great and seeing results in no time.

I have worked in the fitness industry for over 15 years. In that time I have worked as a personal trainer, coach, business owner, educator, and in leadership with successful gyms. I have had the opportunity to learn under top Strength and Conditioning coaches. I have also earned some alphabet soup next to may name.

How I Started In Fitness

I got into lifting weights at 13 years old. I found my dad's old rusted dumbbells in the basement and started using them. I knew nothing about training and would basically just do curls until the song I was listening to was over (probably “Ace to Base”). Overtime I read books like everyone’s bible back in the day, “The Encyclopedia To Bodybuilding” by Arnold Schwarzenegger. I got heavily into body building and even started doing bodybuilding shows from 15-21 years old. I continued my training while going to college.

I stopped doing shows because I got sick, I got really sick. I ended up in ICU for two weeks after dying on the operating table 3 times and being brought back. My recovery was hard after losing lung capacity and half my body weight. I worked hard in the gym and continued my training but now I had a goal of just getting back to where I was before getting sick.

I had a heavy schedule between school and crazy jobs like flying hot air balloons in the morning and being a bouncer at night. I also worked at the front desk of a gym two nights a week (really I just did my homework since it was a 10pm-5am shift). One day I got sick of the madness I created in my life and went into 24 hour fitness for a personal training job. Even though I had no certifications they hired me while I worked towards it. I fell in love with personal training and the connections I made with clients. Overtime I slowly started to understand that maybe my bro split wasn’t the right thing for 99% of my clients. Also now that I was getting older and had different goals it probably wasn’t for me anymore. I have now worked at 4 box gyms, owned my own training business, and have been fortunate enough to even teach other coaches while still learning myself. I love being a coach not just because I get to lift heavy things and get paid for it. I love the people I work with, clients and coaches. I love the impact I can make on others lives. I love that I’m in a people business with a sprinkle of fitness.

Personal Life

I live in Utah with my gorgeous wife and crazy but cool son. I love Star Wars, superheroes, and Frank Sinatra. My gym is decorated to hills with them all. My family loves to go on hikes and ride bike (easy to do in Utah). My wife is a school teacher and I work from home, so the summers are amazing.
