"I'm So Hungry When I Diet"

If you’re dieting there will be times of hunger. That’s just part of the process when you reduce your calories. You shouldn’t however always be hungry. If you are it’s probably because your calories are too low or you aren’t selecting foods that will keep you full.
True hunger, not because of boredom or stress, is your body’s signal for “Feed Me”.
The best way to combat the need to feed is by filling up on things that will keep you full longer.
The goal is to be in a calorie deficit when dieting for weight loss. Technically speaking, if you can stay in a caloric deficit consistently, you will lose weight no matter what you eat. The problem is that for most of us that shit is hard if we live off of low quality foods that are dense in calories but have little bulk or fiber.
Sure you can lose weight with only eating pop tarts, a Diet Coke, and a cheese quesadilla. You just aren’t going to feel great doing it. It’s also probably not a sustainable diet. So chances are, your results aren’t sustainable either. The same goes with “healthier” diets that restrict certain food groups. If you can’t see yourself never having that thing again. I wouldn’t choose a diet that restricts it completely.
Some things that will help you stay full while reducing calories are...
•Quality Sleep. If you don’t get enough, your body will be looking for energy elsewhere. Food will be your go to in the end. You only can suck down so much caffeine.
•Drink lots of water and if you want some calorie free flavored stuff sprinkled in, that’s cool too. Water is going to keep you hydrated, help you digest your food properly, and fill your belly for a little bit.
•Get more protein in your diet. It takes longer to digest. So you will stay full longer. It also will help you build muscle and in turn burn more fat.
•Veggies!!! I can’t stress this enough. If you want to be less hungry, it your veggies. Not only are they good for you but the amount of veggies you can eat for very little calorie is huge. You will stay full just by the amount of food. Also they are packed with fiber, slowing down digestion. This will just keep you full longer.
Dieting shouldn’t mean that you’re always hungry.
